In keeping with the Trail's long-range plan to provide world class public golf, this association is positioned to take advantage of current industry opportunities. To accomplish this objective, the Trail has established three new Operational Divisions focusing on Tournaments, Instruction, and Junior Development.

Tournament Division is a regionally based tour concept geared towards Juniors throughout the state of Alabama and the Southeast. Utilizing the same courses that have hosted the Men's NCAA Division I Championship, LPGA Tournament of Champions, NIKE / BUY.COM TOUR Championship, and the RTJGT Junior Classic (conducted by the A.J.G.A.), the Tournament Division provides excellent venues to develop competitive skills. The Instructional division has developed a curriculum that will specifically target the needs of the tournament player; while the Junior Development division has created programs that make golf more accessible to Juniors of all races and economic backgrounds.
