Spectators are welcome at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail TOUR events. Please remember that it is a privilege to watch the participants and we ask you to adhere to the following guidelines. If any of the following guidelines are perceived as broken by an official the player may be subject to penalty and it may result in the spectator being asked to leave the golf course.
Advice (Rule 8) is any counsel or suggestion which could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of a club or the method of making a stroke. In addition, any conversation between player/spectator may be construed as advice. Penalty for breach of this rule is two strokes. Players are responsible for the actions of their relatives and spectators in regards to this rule.
Keeping the above statement in mind, please keep your conversation with the player to words of encouragement as long as advice is not given.
Yelling at or discouraging any RTJ Junior Tour player including your own child will not be tolerated. You will be asked to leave/escorted off the golf course.
Spectators may carry cell phones but are asked to keep them on silent or vibrate. If there is a need to make or take a phone call please do so as far away from any group as possible.
Spectator carts are allowed at RTJ Junior Tour Events provided there availability. There is a cart rental fee of $20 per cart per round. Those operating the cart must be 16 years of age and a licensed driver.
Carts are to remain on the cart path at all times.
Spectators and spectator carts should stay one shot ahead of the group they are following. This allows spectators to follow errant shots and help identify where the ball comes to rest. Spectators are allowed to aid in the search for lost golf balls. Carts are to remain on the cart path during this search.
Spectators should not give rulings on the golf course. Please seek a rules official when possible. If rules official is unavailable the players should proceed under Rule 3-3 and play two balls.
The use of private coolers is allowed only during tournament play, they are not permitted during practice rounds.
The RTJ Junior TOUR staff may penalize the player based on the severity of the spectator violation. If a serious breach has occurred, the spectator may be asked to leave the facility or the spectator may not be permitted to attend future events.
